based on his quick survey of the area, jiji has decided that there is Just Enough space to draw his sword from its sheath. the crescent moon marks upon the blade catch what little light they have before the sword slices against the corner of the container - where any hinges may have been. the speed is quick, resting upon the boundary of human and inhuman.
though it emits only sparks and a shriek of metal, and a moment later mikazuki sheathes his sword... and upon waiting, nothing happens.]
... hmmm. While worth trying, we appear to be trapped.
... well, I believe that there are some. The pink infant from the 'summer camp' was present at one of the rooms. So while not all might lend to some memory of previous experiences, some might.
Another took me to what I only can guess is a very unpleasant afterlife - so the time at which some of our number begin to lose their lives may not be far.
Well, fear of death is fear of an end, and the unknown... It'd still be terrible, but if your thought process is "we can just come back anyway", it takes a bit of the edge off.
Not that I'm lining up to test that there is resurrection, by the way. But I can see how some might think that way.
From what I understand, in this collection of prior experiences, all were successful in resurrecting their dead. In the 'summer camp', this was not the case - and so many were playing for the chance to bring their friends back from the sex demons boat.
However the manner in which resurrection occurred also sounds varied. Some were brought back after experiencing a trial of their own. In our village, all but one had to die - and that remaining one held everyone's fate in their hands, including whether they could return.
We have not yet heard of any promise of wishes being granted or reality being altered - but that does not yet mean it doesn't exist. Though I suppose that requires one to consider both best and worst case scenarios.
But the larger question at hand is if that resurrection may or may not apply to our hostages, as you have said. Or if there is no way to secure that hostage’s safety in case their champion may be incapacitated.
Though I suppose it remains early - the true of these affairs take weeks to unfold.

[ He grimaces, covering his ears at the sound of metal against metal. ]
... If only it was that easy. At least nothing is coming in here to attack us yet.

[he hums thoughtfully as he just
goes to have a seat somewhere in the back of the truck,]
Are we merely meant to wait, do you suppose?

[ He leans against the wall, getting a little jostled when the transport runs over a bump. ]
Did you manage to uncover anything from visiting the other rooms?

Aside from a questionable sense of humor and a sadistic streak from the hotel?

It does not. ]
I'm about the same... It's strange. Usually weird anomalies are some kind of clue.

[ He shifts, suddenly a little off balance where he's leaning against the wall. ]
But we'll see... three nights to go.

[he hums faintly]
Though even then, we can assume as in the past that there is a chance of resurrection. Does that make the situation better or worse, I wonder?

But I am sure there are many who would like to see no harm come to their hostages regardless.
It does beg the question - if one is killed, what becomes of their hostage without someone 'playing' on their behalf?

No consequence aside from pain and death? My, what a self-sacrificing group of humans we have gathered.

I don't know if I can even entertain the possibility of there not being a resurrection aloud...
[ Even if he thinks about it in the back of his head. ]

Not all important matters need be spoken aloud.

I'm hoping for a proof of life too, or at least an opportunity to speak to them.
