I get the feeling there's definitely going to be things we don't learn until really late, even if we can find out some of it now.

Do you think there's some kind of profound meaning behind all this?

[agleam]

How are we defining profound meaning here, exactly?

[shaft]

"And the meaning was that we all come together in times of hardship."

I'm perfectly capable of coming together with people without hardship, so if that's the thing they're leading up to, they can stop any time they want.

[shaft]

Yeah, I'd be pissed if that was the grand reason behind all of this.

Maybe it's better that there isn't one. They'd all suck.

[agleam]

Seems like so far, the reason is "I was just bored and wanted entertainment", so no reason does seem like a pretty significant improvement.

[shaft]

[ Makes a face. ]

Yeah. It's more malicious than our last run.

Right. They wanted entertainment too, in a way, but at least the story didn't rope in a bunch of people who had already gone through the same thing before and their loved ones.

[shaft]

Yeah, this feels much more purposeful.

Not to mention, last time it was only our own lives at stake.

[agleam]

...Do you think it's true? The whole hostage thing. They've shown they're pretty good at illusions by now.
