[ he lifts a brow ]

I thought it was Shinobu at first, but turns out it was Hua Cheng.

He did. He was disguised at first, but it wore off.

[ ...sylvain just nods. (technically he would've heard it from dimitri earlier but waves hands in whatever timelines) ]

That... would explain why he was so distraught earlier.

[ he grimaces a little ] ...It must've hurt. I'm sorry.

[ idk where they are positioned but Claude will gesture for Sylvain to follow him into the room, settling on the bed. ]

[ sylvain follows him inside and opts to seat himself at the chair at claude's desk. ]

[ he looks a little startled by sylvain's persistence for a second, before he hides his expression, leaning forward to rest his elbows on his knees and run a hand over his face ]

I'm just a little bitter, that's all. These types of things tend to bring out the worst in us.

[ sylvain nods, even if claude can't necessarily see it. ]

[ he leans forward a little in his seat ]

If you want to talk about it, you know I'm here to listen. ...Or if you'd prefer a distraction, I'm sure I can think of something.

[ it's what claude offered sylvain just last week. he smiles a little apologetically, thinking back on their previous conversation. ]

I'll understand if there are some things you don't want to divulge. I'm not... entirely forthcoming myself. But I hope you know I do care.

[ Claude could probably use a distraction, because this conversation is honestly making him feel worse.

[ good expression falls slightly, and he reaches over to put a tentative hand on sylvain's knee ]

I was going to ask if you thought it was worth it, but that feels pretty crass now.

[ sylvain just shakes his head, and pats claude's hand. ]

[ he's teasing ]

[ he gives him a lopsided smile ]

I was more worried about Sahar, but thought I might as well check on you too while I'm here...

[ he leans back and collapses onto his bed ]

For a war mount, she certainly has a temper.
