I've never been well-inclined toward the arts.

[ Claude is currently sitting in class, staring at the book in front of him, looking completely lost when he glances over at Lux. ]

What does it mean to be "gay"?

I've never had the chance to study them as much as I would have liked...

To be attracted to someone of the same gender of yourself, rather than the opposite. For example, if you were to fall in love with a man, or if I were to fall in love with a woman.

I guess that's fair... But I am curious as to why our teacher is more interested in what "gay" than what's not.

Perhaps that part is what's easier for them to relate to?

I don't tend to think about such things... But perhaps?

Just as easily, we could presume that he feels the type whose love is overshadowed, regardless of inclination.

I don't find it that surprising. Stories are written to be read. To be analyzed and taken apart and learned from.

Even love stories. I quite like reading them, myself!

I don't consider myself one, no. I just like stories of any kind.

Seems like you've got quite an eye for it regardless. It must be those private tutors paying off.

[illuminance]

I don't want to give them much credit, to be honest.

[shaft]

Oh? Were you dissatisfied with their work?

[illuminance]

They always had a short temper for questions.

[shaft]

Ah, so they didn't quite grasp the essence of learning.

[illuminance]

Sometimes the scope of what you're meant to learn is too small compared to such a vast world around you. Or perhaps I was just an annoying child.

I think education is supposed to cultivate curiosity. I wouldn't be too hard on yourself.

[illuminance]

I'm not, but I hold a grudge that they were.
