[ He laughs. ]

No! I picked Viola because it seems like she enjoys reading about history. And this would qualify, don't you think?

[duranduel]

[Just folding his arms like the emo boy he is!!]

[shaft]

[ Nudges him! It's all right. ]

I would read it too. I'm also a lover of history.

[duranduel]

History in general, or...specific stuff about history?

[shaft]

That's a mysterious question. I suppose I like most facets of history, though I enjoy the politics and shifts in power more.

[duranduel]

Oh, so you're kinda like Viola, then.

...Are you a part of politics? Or just like studyin' it?

[shaft]

It's just a necessity, so I've grown to enjoy it.

It's not a very interesting topic. [ He looks thoughtful. ] What do you plan to do now?

[There's a pause.]

Y'know, you sure don't like talkin' about yourself, huh.

[And another pause.]

What can I do now? Just keep readin'. Not like I can change anything.

[shaft]

I don't have anything interesting to say.

[ He just collapses onto the couch. ]

I do hope you find something to brighten your spirits though.

[duranduel]

That's only something that interesting people say, Claude.

[A shrug.]

I've been finding some things here and there. So it isn't all that bad.

[shaft]

Then you can get to know me better and perhaps I'll reveal my deep, dark secrets to you.

I'm not interested in those. Honestly, I like you just for...being this cool guy you are, even if...it would be nice to know more.

[A sigh.]

I don't need to know your deep tragic backstory or something to get a better feeling for who you are, that's what I'm sayin'.

[shaft]

Do you think you don't have a grasp on who I am?

[duranduel]

No.

[He says, bluntly.]

You know a lot about me. But I barely know enough about you. Like I said, its not that important. But we all show different sides of ourselves to others. Some people are better hidin' them. I'm not one to judge.

[shaft]

[ He feels a little awkward at being so boldly called out. The air a little too serious to casually brush away Mandricardo's words but.

I can appreciate that at least. [ The lack of judgment. ] I just... don't enjoy speaking about it. It kind of tires me out.

[duranduel]

I don't think anyone likes to talk about themselves. I just do because what else can I talk about? I don't really have anything else. So you're lucky, I think. You have that luxury.

[shaft]

That's an interesting way to put it. Though I'm not sure I understand what you mean by having something else.

...Not really....I can't think of anything. That's real gloomy...

You seemed to have quite a good time running the other day. And adventuring... even if you had a mission, you didn't enjoy travelling and seeing new places?

[duranduel]

I mean...I like that stuff, but I wouldn't call them hobbies or interests.

Plus...as I am, I can't just go out and do what I want. I'm not going to go adventuring anytime soon.

[shaft]

Because you've died? [ He considers this. ] Perhaps... you should consider being an opportunity? I hear this school has the ability to achieve a great many things.

[duranduel]

Well, its more that Heroic Spirits serve a purpose, and when that is done, they don't need to stick around anymore.

I mean...there are rare ways to stay, I guess, but I don't know if I would want to even with those.
