What's "musical chairs"?

It's a game where you have one chair fewer than the number of players. Everyone walks around the chairs in a loop while music plays, and when it stops you have to sit down. Whoever can't find a seat is taken out of the game. Repeat until you find a winner.

...Except in our case, whoever couldn't find a seat just dropped to the floor, and then we started all over again.

... It makes me think of this place, I guess? Perhaps they were chasing each other around the chairs while music played?

That's a bit of a leap.

These things tend to be only vaguely connected.

Last time I was in one of these, we'd actually find real clues on Friday. Not a whole lot of 'em, but real ones, not...musical chairs.

Same here. It would disappear until trial, but it was at least something.

I'm not a fan of these riddles.

Me neither. It makes the whole thing less of a trial and more of a farce.
