[ he drops the hand at his elbow, but then raises the other to gently pat his arm ]

It could be worse. I've found the one where our feelings are being broadcasted is the worst.

They are both an annoyance, but of the two... yes, I suppose that one is the worse option.

Given how peaceful a world you come from, I would've thought that you're more affectionate though.

To be too free with that sort of-- openness is unbecoming.

Who're you trying to impress?

[ktiseos]

There is no one I need to impress. It is about propriety.

[shaft]

Well, I'm not going to ask you to be uncomfortable.

But I think it's fine to be physically affectionate if you enjoy it, without worrying about what's proper.

[ktiseos]

I think not. It is bad enough that I have been showing my face to others for weeks, now.

We all wear masks, normally-- but I came into the Prism without mine, and still do not have it here.

As a form of modesty?

[ktiseos]

We find individualism to be unnecessary. None of us wear anything save for these robes, either.

[he hasn't worn anything else the entire time... he just has multiples of the exact same outfit.]

[ he wants to see this society so bad and just study them ]

Okay, but you are an individual... You must have your own hobbies and passions?

That is hardly frowned upon-- we require all manner of experts, after all, in various fields and talents. But physical individuality is irrelevant.

[shaft]

You live forever, don't you?

We are immortal, yes. If we chose to, we could do so, but we do not opt to live eternally.

[shaft]

I suppose that makes sense then. You don't need to procreate, so physical attraction is of no consequence.

That is not-- you needn't put it so bluntly, but as a matter of fact, we do.

Oh really? [ he almost asks why ] I guess there goes that theory then.
