[ well, it's not hua cheng that he gets to see first.

it's a nine-tailed fox the size of a golden retriever, right eye closed and ears perked as it paws out of the starlight and into the bathroom ahead of claude's suitemate. he does follow after, though.
]

... I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. [ hm ] Participants have had roommates, so this is a step up, in some ways.

It depended on the world whether it was three of us or six sharing arrangements.

[ vague. but the fox scrutinizes him while hua cheng looks past claude, eye narrowing. ]

... no, the doorway looks like it's filled with a night sky, almost. Is it the same for you looking into mine?

Not at all. Considering my title was Watcher when I was on the other side of our group's murder shitshow, I would expect far less privacy by experience.

Which means we probably don't have all that much. But at least we have it with each other, I guess.

Not by choice, and we could ignore it on our peripheral if we shifted the focus enough. Was more my preferred method of dealing with it.

We were meant to monitor separate teams, was the point of the function, but it was more a headache than anything else.

The higher powers above us wanted it to spy on us and them alike, in the event that anyone was misbehaving according to their rules.

We used it as a means to respond to distress calls when called upon. Usually when groups returned from trips.

Again, I tried not to. I would rather not have known what the kiss count was for my team.

But I had an ear out for if someone called my name because help was needed.
